Context

EmTech Italy is the Italian edition of the international conference dedicated to emerging technologies promoted by MIT Technology Review. The event brings together leaders, researchers, and companies to discuss the role of advanced technologies—particularly artificial intelligence—in the development of strategic sectors such as healthcare, energy, and sustainability. The conference takes place in Rome at the Università Campus Bio-Medico and represents a forum for dialogue between research, industry, and institutions on new technological scenarios.

Visual

The visual is characterized by a series of red columns symbolizing evolution and dynamism. The perspective suggests the future and the advancement of technology, evoking data flows and the impact of artificial intelligence. Red remains the key brand color of EmTech, while the composition also emphasizes the importance of connection and human interaction in technological progress.

Platform

The website serves as the main information hub for the event, designed to guide users through content, speakers, agenda, and practical information. The information architecture is structured to support navigation and enhance editorial content, with dedicated sections for the conference’s key topics and featured speakers. The design prioritizes clarity, readability, and modularity, integrating visual components that reflect the event’s identity.

Accessibility

The platform is developed in accordance with WCAG guidelines, supporting text scaling, adjustable line spacing and kerning, ARIA labels, and navigation compatible with screen readers, ensuring inclusive and compliant usability.

Motion Design & Social Media

Motion design enhances the visual identity through animations and dynamic content used across social media, promotional materials, and conference projections. The animations translate concepts of innovation and technological transformation into motion, creating a coherent visual narrative aligned with the event’s theme. On social media, the modular graphic system enables flexible adaptation of visuals across different formats, ensuring a recognizable and immediate communication system.

Event

EmTech Italy is an international conference that brings together experts, academics, and industry leaders to discuss the future of emerging technologies. The event set design is consistent with the visual identity, featuring red columns and graphic patterns extended into the physical space, while dynamic animations accompany the direction and guests, creating an immersive and engaging experience for the audience.

My takeaways

Participating in this project allowed me to deepen my understanding of brand content analysis and its core values, as well as the importance of interacting with speakers, presenters, and publishers. I experimented with new languages and methodologies, treating the event as a benchmark to test innovative approaches and develop new skills, including web development. I also strengthened my expertise in video direction for onsite and online guests, managing direction workflows, live streaming, and scenic video mapping, further refining both my technical and creative skills in live and multimedia production.

Questions for the Designer

My approach is based on a holistic vision. I never separate design from its technological implementation. In projects such as EmTech Italy and Huawei TechArena, my role has been that of a strategic bridge: I translate complex concepts into intuitive interfaces and coherent visual systems. I adopt a Data-Driven and User-Centric approach, where design is not merely aesthetic but functional, ensuring that the user experience (UX) directly supports the client's technological goals.

Unlike a pure designer, I have a solid background as a frontend developer. I understand both the limitations and the potential of code, which directly influences every decision I make during the UI design process. I design interfaces that are technically sustainable and optimized for the web (via WordPress), reducing the gap between the prototype in Figma and the final product. This allows me to manage web development independently, while preserving the creative vision and ensuring optimal performance.

My added value lies in visual dynamism. I don’t limit myself to static layouts; I use motion design (After Effects) to bring brand identity to life, as seen in Ray-Ban: You’re On or Oakley: Beyond Human. Whether for events, social media, or digital interfaces, my goal is to create memorable experiences. This ability to merge traditional branding with animation allows companies to stand out, turning a simple image into an interactive communication asset.

For me, 3D is a tool to shape the impossible. I use software such as Blender and Substance Stager not only for aesthetic purposes, but for product visualization and prototyping, as in the project The Rim. From modeling to final output (rendering), my skills allow me to integrate 3D elements into complex digital contexts to enhance every detail, while maintaining full control over the quality of the visual design.

It demonstrates my technical versatility. Managing live events, directing, and video mapping (as in EmTech Italy) has taught me how to work under pressure. This cross-disciplinary experience allows me to approach digital projects with a critical-ready mindset: I can coordinate real-time workflows and maintain focus on output quality even in unpredictable scenarios, such as those experienced with Torino City Lab.

My approach is that of a pragmatic innovator. I am used to working on Call for Solutions and digital innovation projects, such as Poste Italiane Call for Solutions and Unicredit Hack. My ability to move across graphic design, 3D, and UX/UI allows me to analyze problems from multiple perspectives. I focus on sustainable, scalable solutions aligned with the specific needs of corporate ecosystems, always aiming for maximum communication impact.
